Zac Taylor is a Brooklyn-based musician and filmmaker. As a child he would often doodle the Nirvana smiley face on his Trapper Keeper in English class. His older brother Willy spent a summer mowing lawns to buy a red Squier Strat; young Zac ran the risk of a pounding by playing it while Willy was at football practice. He spent his early teens wearing out Hendrix and Beatles tab books, sneaking out of the house at midnight to blues jams at dive bars in downtown Atlanta, trying to impress girls by playing Talking Heads songs and, occasionally, finding the nerve to sing.
After studying at Berklee College of Music, he released his first solo record ‘Salesman’ in 2010 and made the move to NYC, quickly becoming a sought-after hired gun with a variety of acts. Zac was hired by multi-platinum artists American Authors (“Best Day of My Life”, Island Records) in 2014 and continues to travel with them all over the world as both a multi-instrumentalist and videographer, and has performed on Conan, Ellen, Late Show with David Letterman, Late Late Show with James Corden, Late Night with Seth Meyer, and many others.
He currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, where is always working on new music and regularly performs as a solo artist, and also with other acts such as Connell Cruise, Alex Winston, Sandra Bernhard, and the Upright Citizens Brigade.
